who has the manpower to do it with human beings?

Edward Snowden is safe from American “justice” for the moment, and he will certainly go down as the most effective whistle-blower in history. His revelations are going to cause a wholesale restructuring of the world’s most important communications system, the Internet. And that, rather than his whereabouts and fate, is now the real story.

On Aug. 8, Lavabit, a U.S.-based email provider that promised to keep its clients’ communications private, closed down.Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust. The National Security Agency approached it about six weeks ago demanding the same access to its customers’ emails that it has already extorted from big American Internet companies like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Amazon and Microsoft.

The company’s owner, Ladar Levison, is under an NSA gag order, but he wrote to his clients: “I have been forced to make a difficult decision: to become complicit in crimes against the American people, or walk away from nearly ten years of hard work by shutting down Lavabit. I would strongly recommend against anyone trusting their private data to a company with physical ties to the United States.”

Jon Callas, co-founder of Silent Circle, another encrypted email service that has just shut down because it cannot protect its clients’ data, went even further. “Email (that uses standard Internet protocols)…cannot be secure,” he wrote.

The mass surveillance being carried out by the NSA not only gives the U.S. government access to everything Americans say to one another. It also destroys everybody else’s privacy, because Internet routing protocol sends messages not by the shortest route, but by whichever route is fastest. That means, in most cases, through the U.S.Find the perfect leather or synthetic cell phone cellphone cases., and therefore straight into the hands of the NSA.

Snowden’s revelations so far have told us about two major NSA surveillance programs, both probably illegal even under American law. The first collects the mobile phone records of over 200 million Americans.

Don’t worry your pretty head about that, darling, said Sen. Dianne Feinstein, chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee: “This is just metadata, there is no content involved.” The NSA isn’t actually listening to your calls.

Well, of course it isn’t listening to billions of calls. Machines can’t listen to calls, and who has the manpower to do it with human beings? But machines can quickly use the call logs to identify everybody you ever talked to, and everybody they ever talked to, out to the fourth or fifth generation.

If one of those thousands of people ever spoke to somebody abroad with a Muslim name (or somebody who works for Siemens, or Samsung, or some other industrial competitor of the United States), they may take an interest in you. If you’re an American who has never had direct phone contact with anybody abroad, they may then apply to access the content of your calls and emails under the Prism program.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court which reviews such applications has refused precisely 10 of them (out of 20,919) since 2001. Besides, the content of most Americans’ messages can probably be examined without recourse to the judges under one of the blanket authorizations issued by FISC. And if you’re not American, or an American resident who once spoke to somebody abroad by phone, then you’re in a free-fire zone.

If you are American, you probably don’t care about that, because you are mesmerized by the guff about a huge terrorist threat that the security barons use to justify the endless expansion of their empire (now almost a million employees). A recent opinion poll by the Pew Research Center found that 62 percent of Americans think “fighting terrorism” is more important than worrying about personal privacy.

But if you belong to the great majority of Internet users who are not American,Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack. are not in a perpetual sweaty panic about “terrorism” and have no protection whatever under American law from the NSA’s spying, then you will want ways to avoid it. So the market, or other governments, will create such ways.

What’s needed is a big investment in Internet switching capacity in countries where the spies are not completely out of control.expensive version of Replacement parts for iphone 5 screen Supply Store. Then non-Americans can just join one of the many servers that will spring up to meet an exploding demand for secure Internet services.

Finnish Internet servers are already emphasizing the security of their services. Germany, whose memories of the Gestapo and Stasi secret police make it particularly sensitive about the NSA’s spying, may take the lead in building non-US internet capacity, or it may be big countries like Brazil and India that are relatively invulnerable to US pressure. But this is a huge market opportunity, and it will get done.

And the losers? The big U.S. Internet providers, who will find that few of their customers want to store their data in American “cloud” services. “If businesses or governments think they might be spied on,” said Neelie Kroes, vice-president of the European Commission, “they will have less reason to trust the cloud, and it will be (American) cloud providers who ultimately miss out.”

As Jennifer Granick, director of civil liberties at the Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society, put it recently: “America invented the Internet, and our Internet companies are dominant around the world. But the U.S.Check out our daily specials on Cheap Dedicated Server! government, in its rush to spy on everybody, may end up killing our most productive industry.”

Pricing information for the infrastructure

If you are looking for one throat to choke for a virtualized x86 server stack, the right one is tough to find. But Oracle wants you to wrap your hands around Larry Ellison’s neck, and is betting that its new Virtual Compute Appliance works so well and is such a good bargain that you won’t squeeze.

The system makers that have welded together servers, switches, and storage do not control their own operating systems or hypervisors for those servers, even if they do have their own Unix or proprietary variants. And the dominant operating system suppliers on x86 iron – Microsoft and Red Hat, with a bit of action coming from SUSE Linux and Canonical – who also have hypervisors and control freaks to make them behave do not make and support their own systems.

Oracle, says Adam Hawley, senior director of product management for virtualization products, will be the first tier-one system, operating system, and hypervisor maker who can claim to control a complete server virtualization stack.

The Virtual Compute Appliance is not a member of the Exa family, which is made up of clusters of x86 servers from Oracle tuned up to run parallel databases or middleware software from Oracle atop its own variants of Linux, which is derived from Red Hat Enterprise Linux but with a homegrown Linux kernel that Oracle patches and supports without breaking application compatibility with RHEL. The Exa line is specifically geared for “extreme performance,” while the appliances for running databases, Hadoop, and now hypervisors and virtual machines are more general-purpose.

The new infrastructure cloud appliance is based on Oracle’s X3-2 servers, which are equipped with two of Intel’s current “Sandy Bridge-EP” Xeon E5 processors, which in this case have eight cores running at 2.2GHz. Each server node in the cluster is configured with 256GB of main memory running at 1.6GHz, plus two mirrored 900GB disk drives and a dual-port 40Gb/sec InfiniBand adapter card. There is a Gigabit Ethernet management port on the server node, as well.

The setup comes with two base nodes for storing virtual server slices in a rack, expandable to a total of 25 nodes.Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack. There are two more identical server nodes in the rack, which are mirrored for high availability and are used to run Oracle’s management software.

The virtual servers in the appliance are not meant to store the virtual machines on the node’s puny disk drives, but rather link out to a ZFS 7320 Storage Appliance with 24 of those 900GB disk drives. Each dozen of the drives are put in a RAID group and then mirrored, and after all of the Oracle software is on there, there is about 6TB left over for virtual machine images.

Each server has a 40Gb/sec adapter that presents virtualized InfiniBand and Fibre Channel adapters to link the servers to each other and to the core network and, in the case of Fibre Channel, to link out to external storage arrays linked to the I/O director switch.

The Fibre Channel modules are not yet supported, but InfiniBand links to the ZFS 7320 are. There are enough InfiniBand ports to handle 85 server nodes, which is more than three racks,Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust. but this configuration is not going to be supported initially, either, says Hawley. The setup includes a 36-port InfiniBand spine switch and two 24-port Gigabit Ethernet switches for management.

That’s the hardware in the Virtual Compute Appliance. The software stack includes Oracle VM, Big Larry’s implementation of the Xen hypervisor, as well as Oracle VM Manager, the control freak that is used to manage and monitor the hypervisor and to create and manage virtual machine images. The Oracle SDN software, which runs on the Xsigo I/O director switches and which creates virtual network links between VMs and physical server nodes in the cluster, is also tossed in.

Rather than use the open source OpenStack or CloudStack cloud control freaks to manage the virtual server clusters, Oracle has cooked up its own shiny new control software, which is given the perfectly obvious name of Oracle Virtual Compute Appliance Controller Software. This is the orchestration and automation layer for a single rack of virtual servers, and it has a GUI interface as these tools tend to these days. If you want to manage multiple racks, then Oracle’s Enterprise Manager Cloud Control hooks into the new compute appliance control software.Find the perfect leather or synthetic cell phone cellphone cases.

Oracle supports Linux, Windows, and the x86 variant of its own Solaris Unix as virtualized guests on the Virtual Compute Appliance, and the company is obviously hoping that customers stick with its own Oracle Linux and Solaris distributions. It is not clear if there will be any price incentives for this.Check out our daily specials on Cheap Dedicated Server!

Pricing information for the infrastructure cloud appliance was not made available, but will be on the official Oracle price list when it ships in September. “We will be very aggressive and right there with them,” Hawley says of the competition, which includes the Unified Computing System machines from Cisco Systems and their vBlock and FlexPod stacks, Virtual System and CloudSystem from HP, Flex System from IBM,expensive version of Replacement parts for iphone 5 screen Supply Store. and Active Infrastructure from Dell.

Moreover, Hawley says that while price is important, it will not be a determining factor. One way of interpreting that is that Oracle has a clever templating system and has automated the configuration of the cluster so you can fire it up and it configures itself in under an hour, meaning that Big Larry thinks he can charge a premium.

Greater network visibility is required for business

he first application – SolarCapture — runs on OpenOnload-enabled Solarflare adapters and can transform any server into a high-performance, high-precision network monitoring or security device.

Data center managers often struggle to improve the performance of systems they are unable to measure. In order to do so, they require more network taps with line rate packet capture to provide precise visibility into network conditions without the exorbitant expense of additional hardware infrastructure that may compromise performance. Greater network visibility is required for business critical functions to optimize application and network performance, ensure corporate compliance, and detect security threats and prevent data loss.

SolarCapture eliminates the need for expensive, specialized appliances and adapters relying on exotic protocols, proprietary hardware, and dedicated networking equipment. Instead, SolarCapture software can transform every server into a precision network tap, increasing network visibility, network instrumentation, and performance analysis.

A single Solarflare adapter can accelerate applications, perform PTP time synchronization and capture packets. In addition, SolarCapture may integrate with other applications and network management tools to capture traffic that can be replayed later for analysis, providing critical application performance data without the need for stand-alone appliances. Our handcrafted Cases for iPad 4 is inspired by the journals of our favorite artists. SolarCapture is an essential ingredient in the corporate data center for network monitoring and analysis, regulatory compliance, and network security.

SolarCapture optimizes network monitoring and security by capturing packets at the highest rates and assigning precise timestamps. Timestamping accuracy can be further improved by up to two orders of magnitude when the host clock is synchronized through a Solarflare PTP server adapter.

“SolarCapture and OpenOnload are critical components for Solarflare’s financial services, grid, and cloud customers to improve the performance, efficiency, and security of their most demanding networks,” said Russell Stern, CEO of Solarflare. “Solarflare is excited to provide our customers access to critical technology that is extremely cost-effective, seamless to deploy and improves the performance and management of software-defined networks.”

While we found our meal to be competent

Long time BHB readers may recall that we predicted here in 2007 that the North Heights was poised to become a culinary hot spot. So, with the the debut of Gabriele Corcos at Bevacco Friday night and with the opening of Sociale two blocks down Henry Street planned for Monday it’s hard not to be amped up about that “vision” becoming reality.

Despite our unbridled enthusiasm about his arrival, our experience at Bevacco Friday night for Corcos’ debut as Executive Chef was less than spectacular. The food and new menu is unremarkable comparatively speaking to, say, fellow TV chef Elizabeth Falkner’s run at Atlantic Avenue’s Krescendo. We’ll give Corcos a mulligan on that one considering he’s relatively new to the restaurant business.

Also of note is the revised drinks menu which shows much promise. That said, even a casual fan of Extra Virgin, the Cooking Channel show Corcos hosts with actress wife Debi Mazar, can feel that his creativity was a bit restrained on Night 1.

Yes, it was Corcos’ first night and a new beginning for the eatery housed at the perpetually cursed “Corner of Cranberry” but the long standing issue of slow, aloof and unorganized service that has plagued Bevacco since its opening continues to be its Achilles heel. While we found our meal to be competent – like dinner at foodie friend’s house – whatever satisfaction the food and drink provided was undermined by the usual crazy quilt of service at the eatery.Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server. And it wasn’t just us, the table next to us received a bottle of hot white wine. When they mentioned this to their server the reply was essentially, “we don’t usually serve cold bottles of wine.”

The Lady Troopers, made up of former national players, exploited the weakness of the HD Spikers with a solid attacking game and smart defensive job to finish the conference with six successive victories after suffering their only loss at the start of the event.

After a poor third set, the Lady Troopers,we are committed to providing wireless MileWeb Services Overview. starring lefty Jovelyn Gonzaga, launched an all-out attack in the fourth frame to become the first champions of the fledgling, semi-professional league.

Joy Cases took up the fight for the Lady Rising Suns and wound up with 18 points, while Liza de Ramos and Analyn Joy Benito had 10 and nine, respectively.

Cignal’s top striker Bernal, who didn’t play competitively for six years after college, was adjudged Most Valuable Player, leading three other HD Spikers in the individual honor roll.

Big-hitter Tubino grabbed the Best Spiker award, while fellow Cignal bets Arianne Mei Argarin and Jennelyn Reyes were picked Best Setter and Best Receiver, respectively.

I was impressed by the knowledge base

One of the greatest things about being a small business owner today is the number of apps that are available to help make running a business so much easier than it was just a few years ago. It used to be really difficult for many small businesses to compete, especially in the online space. Back in the day, circa 2008 or so, if you wanted a cool website, you’d have to shell out thousands of dollars to hire a designer/programmer. An e-commerce site could cost six figures! Then you’d need a bookkeeper, a point-of-sale provider, an attorney,Video Streaming Server MileWeb Dedicated Server Frequently Asked Question. and the list goes on.

Today you can build a website for free using WordPress, you can get an LLC set up for a couple hundred bucks with LegalZoom, and you can use QuickBooks for bookkeeping. If you have a good idea, and use the right tools,we’ve decided to make the below MileWeb Termsof Service available. your chances of success are so much greater.

My philosophy is if someone has built an app that is going to make it easier for me to run my business, I’m going to use theirs rather than build my own. I don’t host my own website because there are companies that can do it better than I can.More than a data storage solution for your MileWeb Storage & Backup Services, Our programmers didn’t create an email newsletter app because there is a company that does only that, and they do it really well.

ShortStack is a platform that my co-founder and I created to make it easy for businesses of any size to host Facebook contests. There have always been companies that could fork over $20K or $50K to run a contest on Facebook or on a website, but that option was out of reach for most businesses.

The bottom line: why reinvent the wheel? There are so many great apps and platforms out there. Chances are very good that some of them will make it easier for you to run your business so you can focus on whatever it is that you do best.

In a decade-long medical device sales career, Adolfo Tejeda estimates he spends 80 percent of his time on networking efforts, trying to grow individual practices by connecting the physicians he calls on. Setting up a system of referrals among those physicians helps the practices grow.

Tejeda and co-founder Vinicius Guerra Paz consider their professional media outlet to be a LinkedIn-style networking system specifically for physicians with the major bonus of a built-in ability to refer patients in real time, a feature powered and protected by Online Tech’s HIPAA-compliant managed cloud server. Online Tech tests its HIPAA hosting solutions and data center facilities against the latest OCR HIPAA Audit Protocol.

“The referral process for physicians is very antiquated,Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server. and a lot of patients are being lost in the process,” Tejeda said. “It’s great for physicians to have their own space to discuss best practices and other issues, but at the same time the biggest benefit that comes from networking is referrals.”

Physicians Global Network streamlines the outdated health information exchange and referral processes, bringing doctors online to build relationships and grow their businesses efficiently. Doctors can refer patients to other specialists and track who is referring patients their way. This transparency and accountability, Tejeda says, helps to build strong professional relationships.

Referrals can be made and appointments scheduled before the patient’s visit ends and both the patient and specialist are notified by text or email alert. Referrals are tracked on one central platform, eliminating unnecessary paperwork and lost business due to inefficient management.

It took Tejeda one year to take Physicians Global Network from concept to its current beta launch. The company is currently focused on building their initial network in the Miami area, where they’re currently based, while accepting memberships from early adopters and tech-savvy participants around the globe. Tejeda expects a full launch of the site once 10,000 physicians are using the beta version.

Joining the site is free. An annual membership fee allows physicians to receive referrals, a cost that would be recouped after the first referral.

“We’re here to grow and we want to grow together with our customers,” Tejeda said. “It’s a big switch to how doctors use their office, so we’re starting off with that personable, face-to-face interaction before we try to go viral to the world. Our users are going to make us successful, and we want to make sure they’re equally successful. That’s what we’re here to do, offer a platform to talk and a platform to grow their practice.”

Along with its HIPAA compliance, Online Tech’s same focus on customer satisfaction is what convinced Tejeda to partner with the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based data center. You can get these MileWeb Exclusive Features if you reach certain.

“I spent a couple weeks reading through sites and talking to representatives,” Tejeda said. “What I liked about Online Tech was the fact that HIPAA Specialist, Bill Ryan was so transparent. I was impressed by the knowledge base that Online Tech brought to the table and by the documentation that Online Tech had. All these things transfer to the reputation of my company, as well. I’m looking at this as a long-term partnership and Online Tech was willing to work with us, a small startup saving every penny to be successful.”

“Service is very important. I plan to provide that service to my physicians, it’s important to us. So the fact that Online Tech gave us that attention, it was huge for us.”

We have also included reasonable estimates for staffing costs

I am sure Brent, Dave, and Marty followed a meticulous process, and their conclusions are no doubt accurate based on the question they attempted to answer. My position is that they answered the wrong question. TCO comparisons are inherently difficult because of the required underlying assumptions.

Normalizing assumptions between two competitive solutions is always difficult, but even more so among different deployment models. Not long ago, No Jitter found itself in a TCO debate over premises-based solutions from Lync and Cisco. The core problem was that the direct and indirect costs of Lync vary wildly based on a site’s overall Microsoft commitment and investment, resulting in multiple (correct) TCO conclusions.

Consider the TCO question when it comes to something as simple as buying or leasing a car. The key assumption that drives TCO is the term of the lease. Other key assumptions that impact the outcome include estimated resale value, estimated mileage per year, depreciation rate, and so on. The buyer tailors these assumptions to determine the correct path for their particular situation. Two buyers looking at the same vehicles may come to perfectly sound different conclusions.

The authors of the TCO study made a number of assumptions about enterprise UC requirements, and then attempted to normalize the bids for fair comparison. They state, “The three RFP authors worked together to create a normalized and consistent TCO comparison for all 23 of these solutions.” Direct comparisons are difficult without normalizing the level of functionality and services quoted.

Unified Communications deployments are typically highly customized, and organizations select exactly what they need, integrated into their specific framework, and aligned with their organizational objectives. For example, the authors stated that “if a solution did not include audio or web conferencing, we have added in reasonable costs for procuring these capabilities separately.” Inherent in that statement is the assumption that the customer wants audio and web conferencing as part of their core UC solution–two services that many organizations use a la carte today.

It also assumes “reasonable costs for procuring these capabilities separately.” How organizations conference varies significantly. Some are mostly internally focused, putting more emphasis on the equipment; others rely on more distributed uses, which puts additional emphasis on access; and some are video-centric.Hivelocity offers reliable and affordable Windows windows dedicated server. An organization that regularly uses video with external organizations may find itself a prime candidate for a cloud service like Vidtel or Blue Jeans–regardless of the UC model deployed.

“We have also included reasonable estimates for staffing costs.” That’s noble, but staffing costs are only a part of the human equation. There’s a shortage of both Cisco and Microsoft UC engineers, so additional costs include position search, time to fill, turnover and retention costs, and ongoing certifications.

One of the big drivers of cloud adoption is to reduce the burden of UC on management. In addition to the obvious issues of delivering core services, management attention also goes toward staff management, resource management.

With premises-based implementations also come issues like border security. To mobile-enable staff often requires specialized equipment, licenses, and additional bandwidth. Two colleagues communicating from remote locations over mobile clients requires two connection paths to the server–a duplication that is eliminated with UCaaS.

Once we realized the value offered by PASS and SQLSaturday, the idea of starting a Buffalo Chapter became very appealing to a number of us who’d attended the event.”

The idea of a local Chapter of PASS in Buffalo also appealed to the management team at Algonquin Studios. “Algonquin Studios is thrilled to sponsor a group that so many of our team members are involved in,” says Donald F. Lee III, Director of Software Development at Algonquin Studios. “SQL Server is at the heart of every system we build at Algonquin and this group will help to strengthen our developers’ skills. Even more important than that, we’re excited that they’ll be getting out in the Buffalo Tech community, networking, and helping to build a stronger technology base in downtown Buffalo.”

“In addition to our immediate goals of building interest and membership, we’d love to bring a SQLSaturday event to downtown Buffalo in 2014,” says Griggs. “Hosting an annual event like that obviously requires the support of excellent community and corporate sponsors, which is why we’re so glad to have Algonquin Studios on our team.”

The founders of the new Buffalo Chapter will be required to host monthly meetings or “user groups” that offer educational and networking opportunities to their membership. They’re currently looking for additional corporate sponsors, event locations, and speakers to present at their meetings, either in person or via the web. If you’d like more information about joining the group, becoming a sponsor, or presenting at a meeting, please visit the Chapter’s web site.

They have headed off to New York

Laois, Armagh and Offaly have all been rocked by the loss of players to the US following their exit from their respective provincial championships, leaving them at where cards are embedded with chip card and a cardholder.a loss for the qualifiers.

GAA Director General Paraic Duffy revealed a new rule has now been drawn up that will ban all but students from leaving their counties to play summer football in the US.

The rule will ban players from playing Stateside following a Championship appearance here — unless they are students.

He said this rule previously applied to North America but an amendment has been drafted for next spring’s annual Congress extending it to New York, despite pleas from Big Apple officials not to do so.

“The New York board asked us not to do that,” revealed Duffy. “They said they would police this system themselves and it would not happen again. The smart card has a memory chip embedded in it that, But it has happened again. Players have gone with their teams still in the Championship. The Brilliant Polish of a tungsten jewelry What is Tungsten? They have headed off to New York so Central Council met last Saturday fortnight and took a decision on a recommendation from Management, to bring a motion to Congress next year to extend the rule so that it now relates to New York as well. What that would mean, if it is passed by Congress, is that next year, any full-time student that plays in the Championship and decides to go to America would be allowed to go. That’s part of the student experience. Other players who have played in the Championship or been on a Championship panel, will not be given a sanction to play in New York, just as they are not allowed go to the rest of North America.

But last night, New York County Board chairman Liam Bermingham yesterday defended clubs in the Big Apple who have come under scrutiny for the recruitment of GAA players.

“Perception is a funny thing,” Bermingham told The Irish Examiner yesterday. “When you think about it, how many senior intercounty players are there out here on sanctions? I’ve counted 10 in total.wholesale fashion China shoes manufacturer, Two from Laois, three from Armagh, three from Offaly and two from Down. That’s the reality of this to the best of my knowledge.

“In the grand scheme of things, that’s a small number. We have hundreds of players here. We don’t want to step on toes. It’s not us against them, be it the North American County Board (NACB) or any of the County Boards.

“But it’s not comparing like with like. The NACB have 13-aside teams and are allowed multiple J1 sanctions for the year. We play 15-aside teams and we only have four sanctions for the year. It’s not a fair comparison.Check the following list of cheap dedicated MileWeb linux dedicated server.

“Their structure is different too — it’s a summer championship that culminates in mid-August. The New York championship goes through until September and early October.”

Bermingham also sought to place some of the responsibility for pay-for-play on the players themselves. “The clubs in New York are being accused of throwing money at players. What people don’t realise is that we are receiving multiple e-mails from players on a daily basis. Just this morning, two Limerick intercounty players contacted me asking, ‘What can you do for me?’ I understand that clubs at home are under pressure and it is a very tough situation for them and they are then putting pressure on their county boards. But is it perception or is it reality? 10 is not a huge number of players and that is the situation here today to the best of my knowledge.”

Local chef revives restored Linden hotel

From sack lunches to soufflés, executive chef Michael Grauer has come a long way to find his calling running a small restaurant down the road in Linden.

From private clubs to chain restaurants and hotels like Red Lobster and the Marriott, Grauer has learned the restaurant business from every angle. From server to bartender to chef, his new challenge is to “make his mark” by showcasing his signature style and getting back to his rural roots in Middle Tennessee.

Grauer discovered an ad for head chef at the Commodore Hotel & Cafe in Linden.

“I read the ad and thought, this could be good,” said Grauer. “I showed it to my wife, and she said, ‘You gotta go there.’”

After meeting the owners Michael and Kathy Dumont, Grauer was impressed. Their dedication, commitment and tenacity in restoring and renewing a dilapidated, downtown landmark building and in striving to make it a successful business were inspiring.

“I wanted to be part of that,” says Grauer. “I wanted to share in a more intimate venue.”

After 12 years between Embassy Suites and the Marriott Hotel in Franklin,Shop Stately Steel Circle Drop Chandelier stainless steel necklace, Grauer knows how to feed a crowd — up to 1,600 in one day, in fact. And feed them very well. From gourmet to country favorites, Grauer has a flair that made a recent customer remark, “from Maine to Spain, those are the best crab cakes I have ever tasted!”

Grauer’s path started with a heart attack. His father traveled a lot for his job, and his mother cared for Grauer and his four brothers and sisters. When Grauer was 12, “Mom had a heart attack, and survived, but was severely limited in what she could do,” says Grauer. “I was the second oldest (child). We are always offering best quality stainless steel cufflink the affordable price. My older brother — to this day – can’t boil water, so I was in the kitchen, making sack lunches for my brothers and sisters.”

Grauer was also cooking family dinners “with Mom’s coaching” when he was in junior high.

When he entered the workforce, he was a server and bartender. Then he was hit with the cooking bug again when he watched Chef Kevin Ocella at a private club put dishes together with such ease and a deft touch that it left a lasting impression. As time went on, he started gravitating toward the back of the house.

“When I met Jarod Hutto, it took off like a freight train,” says Grauer. “Hutto’s degrees in biology and culinary arts challenged my imagination and skills like never before. The Brilliant Polish of a tungsten jewelry What is Tungsten?where cards are embedded with chip card and a cardholder. One day he came in the kitchen and threw a bag of marshmallows and some ahi tuna on the counter. The challenge was: how do they fit together in the same dish? I passed the test.”

It wasn’t without a lot of hard work and continuing education.

Grauer comments on being a chef, “It takes self-discipline. It has to be in your blood. Chefs have an enormous amount of passion and pride in what we do, and we never take shortcuts.” Where does this passion come from? “It comes from my dad. Dad, known to his buddies as “Honest John,” always said, ‘If you’re gonna do something, do it right, and the right way. No matter if anyone’s looking or not.’”

A resident of Columbia, Grauer’s family has been in Tennessee since 1803. His distant cousin was Conf. Gen. Benjamin Jefferson Hill, Commanding Officer of the 35th Tennessee,we know the value of kapton tape. Warren County – McMinnville. Gen. Hill was actually the last general to surrender in the Civil War.

After only a few weeks, Grauer has transformed the Commodore’s menu and staff with an emphasis on superior service, value and local ingredients. Local farm cheeses: Sweetwater Farms White Cheddar and Bonnie Blue Goat Cheese are featured on the menu. Grauer’s service was a big hit on Mother’s Day, with his tableside preparation of Bananas Foster. In addition, the same weekend, Grauer and his staff served 300 people at a community event, showcasing his group banquet experience.

Hotel owner Kathy Dumont is wearing a bigger smile these days, since Grauer came on board. She says, “Stay tuned — you’re in for a special treat whenever you visit the Commodore. We’ll keep restoring, renovating and improving here — we are dedicated to making it work in Linden. We strive to be an establishment the whole area can be proud of.”

The Commodore is named for Perry County’s namesake: Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, who carried the flag “Don’t Give Up the Ship” in his victory over the British in the 1813 Battle of Lake Erie.
